Clinical Development

Introduction

I am a professional counselor committed to collaborative, culturally humble, and outcome-informed practice. My clinical work integrates an Adlerian foundation with evidence-based strategies such as CBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing, tailored to client strengths, context, and goals.

I strive to create an affirming therapeutic alliance that emphasizes encouragement, clarity of purpose, and practical change. Ethical decision-making and respect for client autonomy guide my approach across individual, couple, and group work.

Purpose. The purpose of my counseling portfolio is to present a coherent professional identity and demonstrate competent, ethical care that advances client well-being while honoring diversity, equity, and justice.

Overview of contents. The portfolio includes my counseling orientation statement, case conceptualizations and treatment plans, de-identified documentation samples, outcome-monitoring tools, crisis and ethical decision aids, continuing-education records, and selected client-education materials. These materials show integration of theory, skills, and ethics in practice.

Legacy and Professional Development Goals. As an Adlerian counselor, my professional legacy begins with the therapeutic environment I strive to create by helping clients feel accepted, encouraged, and celebrated. I hope to help clients overcome challenges through intentional changes that help them build an authentic life that meets their life tasks and goals. My commitment to building mutual respect and egalitarian therapeutic alliances is built upon assisting clients with identifying strengths that best support their potential.

In support of my legacy, my professional goals include a lifelong journey of understanding systemic and cultural factors that impact diverse populations and enhance my competency through continuing education. This aligns within my core values to sharpen my counseling skills and best serve my clients and the communities I am and will be a part of. I am grateful and committed to this lifelong journey because I am committed to my curiosity, courage, connection, and contributions as an Adlerian counselor.
